Germany

Germany’s winemaking tradition dates back over 2,000 years, with a focus on producing aromatic white wines from grape varieties such as Riesling and Gewürztraminer. With its cool climate and steep vineyards, Germany’s winemakers create wines that are lively and refreshing, with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.

Fritz Willi Mosel Riesling

Produced in the cool-climate growing region near Mosel, the most northerly wine region in Germany, this beautiful Riesling is sourced from the steep slatey soils of the Saar and Mosel area, where the river aids grape ripening by the reflection of the sun on the river surface. The best vineyards in this area are planted on steep south or southwest facing slopes. After careful picking and selection, the grapes are fermented in 100-litre oak Fuder or stainless steel tanks to preserve the floral aromas—both parts are blended later to add complexity. The wine rests on its fine lees before later bottling.
You can expect fragrant aromas of ripe apricot and citrus, ripe stone fruit on the palate, a clean, saline minerality, and a zesty lemon sherbert character. The style is appealingly off-dry with a well-balanced, crisp finish.
