Chile is a big player in the wine world, ranking fifth in wine exports and seventh in production globally. Its climate combines elements of California and France, making it perfect for growing popular grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Carmenère.

As one of South America’s key wine-producing countries, Chile occupies a long stretch of land along the western coast. This gives it a wide range of terroirs and a diverse selection of wine styles to offer.

Animalia

This Orange wine is exclusively crafted from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in the Casablanca Valley. Influenced by the Pacific Ocean and the Humboldt Current, the vineyards experience high humidity and average temperatures of 25°C in summer and 14°C in winter. The grapes are destemmed, crushed, and left with their skins to ferment in concrete tanks at around 18°C. Gentle punch downs ensure a subtle extraction. After fermentation, the wine ages with the skins in concrete eggs for five months before bottling. It is a unique expression of the valley’s terroir, offering a captivating taste experience.

This Orange wine has a beautiful golden orange colour and offers enticing aromas of ripe stone fruits, figs, and dried herbs. Unlike other Orange wines that hide their grape variety, Animalia reveals a touch of grassy Sauvignon flavour alongside its distinct Orange character. It’s a clever and incredibly tasty creation !!
